Immigration
Visas and invitation letters
Delegates who are not Indian citizens should read the immigration rules that apply to them well before travel and act early enough to allow for processing. An invitation letter is often needed when applying for a visa, and the secretariat can issue one on request.
Clearance letters from the relevant government departments are held by the organisers. If you need a copy for a visa application, write to the secretariat with your name, affiliation and passport details.
Currency
Money in India
The Indian rupee is the only currency accepted in ordinary transactions, so it is wise to carry enough rupees for daily expenses. Larger hotels and shops accept major credit cards, but small establishments may not.
Rupees can be obtained at foreign exchange counters at the airport and in the city. Keep the slip from every conversion and every cash withdrawal, because these slips are needed if you later convert unused rupees back into a foreign currency.

A travel and foreign exchange service operates from a building on the campus, so delegates can make arrangements without travelling into the city.
